Students on Snow im CUBE SAVOGNIN

30. November 2012

This year, CUBE SAVOGNIN will for the first time host the highest-altitude job fair in Europe, called “Students on Snow”. We look forward to an exciting weekend with a CUBE Hotel that is booked solid. Overall, more than 700 students and graduates are expected to come to Savognin between December 14 and 16. Aachen-based tour operator Simsalabim Reisen, which organises this recruiting event for the first time on its own, has answered our questions:

Hi, tell us something about yourself and Students on Snow!

Hello! First let me thank you so much for the great teamwork in planning Students on Snow! We are Simsalabim Reisen from Aachen. While still in college, we founded this company and started organizing fun and trend sport trips. Meanwhile, our team has grown to three permanent employees, and when organizing Students on Snow, we are even about 20 staff members. We bring along everything – from cooks to DJs – to leave our mark for one special weekend.

That sounds very exciting. How did you come up with this idea, and why choose CUBE SAVOGNIN as this year’s event location?

Students on Snow will be held for its sixth time this year. In the previous years, we were on board ourselves as skiing and snowboarding instructors. We found the entire concept thrilling and we had so much fun being part of the event that we decided to take over the whole event from the then-team of organizers. Of course, we had some evolution in mind. As a first step, we wanted to find a new location for the event. At CUBE SAVOGNIN, everything fell into place! The hotel perfectly meets all our expectations. Here, the style that we had in mind meets a great concept for going on vacation together. The open architecture of the CUBEs helps participants get to know each other from the start. Savognin has the ideal size for us – you cannot get lost here, yet has a lot to offer. What’s more, the date coincides with the weekend of the season’s opening! So we are looking forward to great slopes and a nice atmosphere at the season’s opening party, while offering a varied program at CUBE ourselves.

What to expect from the job fair at CUBE?

As tour operator, we know what makes a great trip! Tying a job fair into a trip is a whole new challenge for us. We are very happy that we were able to get great and renowned companies excited about this concept. Apart from Bayer and BASF, Ecenta, Tesat and Peek & Cloppenburg are on board, too. We have also partnered with Wirtschaftsregion Heilbronn Franken, careerloft and Campus Career Network. The companies will set up their stands right at CUBE, as there is more than enough room. The rooms of the fair have been chosen such that our guests will walk through them many times. We are sure that this will lead to many interesting conversations and contacts. Visitors will find all additional information they may seek on the job exchange Students on Snow.

Are there other program items?

In addition to the great sports offering in Savognin and the parties around the opening of the season, we have also made an effort to stand out with an attractive program. Many companies have jumped at the opportunity and got creative. Peek & Coppenburg receives all guests with a welcome drink Friday evening, while the Uni Ski- and Snowboard Cup, powered by careerloft, takes the center stage on Saturday. Definitely everybody will find something worthwhile!

Will there be future job exchanges, perhaps again at CUBE?

There will be more iterations of Students on Snow in the years to come, with CUBE SAVOGNIN as the location for the 2013 event. Next year we will use the experience that we gain this year to make the event and the job fair even better. In the summer of 2013 we will create a similar event, to be named Students of Sports. The gathering will be held in the Kleinwalsertal, in traditional teepees against a spectacular mountain backdrop. As side show items, we will offer mountain biking, climbing, moutaineering and canyoning. This is a totally new challenge with an approach of its own.

Thank you for the interview, and we are looking forward to the event.

Right back at you! We are very excited about Savognin!
