Art by Marco Mehn

Marco Mehn was born in 1967 in the south-western German town of Landstuhl. He is a self-taught artist, who started by buying a canvas, paint and a brush and just lending expression to his feelings through painting.

Through the use of different palette-knife techniques, varied materials, intense colours and abstract forms, the artist attempts to lend his pictures emotion and mood.

Today, Marco Mehn can proudly point to exhibitions at the Art EXPO in New York, in Birmingham, Bologna and Paris, as well as in a number of cities of his native Germany.

Since 2003, the artist has been working to perfect his special “Space Frames”, a framing technique he patented in 2006.

CUBE BIBERWIER-LERMOOS is exhibiting a cross-section of Marco Mehn’s latest works. The exhibition represents a harmonious symbiosis of art with the architecture and design of the innovative CUBE concept.

Marco Mehn’s large works of art, with their materialist coolness, correspond perfectly with the hip, reduced language of forms of the modern CUBE world, where glass, concrete, surreal backlit pillars and colourful designer furniture dominate the atmosphere. In a certain way, the name of the hotel figures prominently in Marco Mehn’s works. Many of the artist’s pictures feature different variations on the cube: big or small, prominently displayed or almost hidden in the background.
